Friday to Sunday
The weekend
Friday and Sunday are come-if-you-can. Saturday is the one we are asking you to be at.
Friday
to
Rehearsal Dinner
Quivey’s Grove Stone House
6261 Nesbitt Rd, Fitchburg, WI
Family and the wedding party, the night before. Come hungry — the Stone House does not believe in a small portion.
Who’s invited: Wedding party and immediate family
to
Welcome Drinks
The Coopers Tavern
20 W Mifflin St, Madison, WI
Open invitation. If you flew in on the Friday, this is where we will be — a block off the Capitol, no reservation, no schedule. Find us.
Saturday
to
Ceremony
The Tinsmith — The Solarium
828 E Main St, Madison, WI
Doors at half three. Please be seated by 3:50 — it is a short ceremony and we would hate for you to hear it from the hallway.
to
Cocktail Hour
The Tinsmith — the Solarium and the courtyard
Wisconsin old fashioneds, brandy, sweet, the correct way. There will be cheese. It is not a suggestion here, it is a municipal requirement.
to
Dinner
The Tinsmith — The Main Hall
Seated dinner, and the reason the RSVP asks what you would like to eat. Toasts land between the plates.
to
Dancing
The Tinsmith — The Main Hall
Until half eleven, which is when the building asks us to stop. Late-night pizza arrives around ten and disappears very quickly.
Sunday
to
Farewell Brunch
Marigold Kitchen
118 S Pinckney St, Madison, WI
Drop in any time before half twelve. No speeches, no schedule, and coffee for everyone who danced until the lights came on.
Dress code
What to wear
Garden Formal
Suits and cocktail dresses. Color is welcome — this is August in a room full of windows.
- A suit or a sport coat and tie. No tuxedo required, and nobody will mind if the jacket comes off after dinner.
- A cocktail dress, a midi, or a jumpsuit. Long is lovely; long is not required.
- The ceremony space is stone and the courtyard is grass — a block heel will treat you better than a stiletto.
- August in Madison runs to the mid-eighties and humid. Everything indoors is air conditioned, so bring a layer for the room rather than for the weather.
We would ask you to leave white and ivory to Ashley, and that is the only rule.
